One woman conquered her fear of heights, another stretched her limits of agility - and all of us proved that with training and support we can be Wonder Women.
With The Compound Obstacle Course Training ground booked for our group of I Want Fitness Women Bootcampers and the forecast being only 14 degrees and hailstorms, we decided to suck it up. We were going to get wet during the course anyway! We were fortunate enough to have the sun make an appearance and make our experience a pleasant one.
Owners Clem and Allyson met us on arrival and we were given a quick brief of the course. The deal was we could go at our own pace and they encouraged us to try each obstacle however it was not expected that we conquer each one should we not feel comfortable.
We started the course and we were challenged at every turn, running, climbing, hanging, crawling, pulling, pushing, swimming, carrying, balancing and the list goes on. It was great to see the girls pushing past their mental blocks and giving the challenging obstacles a go, with some feeling an overwhelming sense of achievement once overcoming an obstacle they thought they could not do.
There was also a great deal of support and encouragement amongst the group which was great to see. Already during the course there was discussions of organising another one of these events as we were having so much fun!
